Overview
This survey invites you to comment on in-development apprenticeship materials submitted by trailblazer groups.
The purpose of a public survey is to gather additional feedback about apprenticeship standards and EPA plans during their development. This insight helps to inform the final approval decision for these materials, along with feedback from expert Route Panels, awarding bodies and independent specialist peer reviewers.
Unlike a full consultation, a public survey aims to collect a broad snapshot of public and stakeholder opinion, therefore the number and depth of questions differ from those in a typical consultation, and outcomes relating to any responses given are not published.
We publish apprenticeship materials in a 10-day public survey at least once per month.
In September 2023, IfATE made changes to our mandated qualifications policy and process. This includes changes to the criteria by which qualifications can be mandated. This has not yet been fully reflected on all our systems. Please be aware that where there is reference to hard sift criterion, in most apprenticeships that are new or newly revised, the qualification is instead being mandated under the new labour market criterion.
How you can help
These short surveys will take no more than ten minutes to complete. Your feedback will help ensure that any apprenticeships that are developed meet the training needs of relevant occupations, and that new apprenticeships are viable, high quality, and widely supported. In particular, we are keen to avoid duplicating apprenticeships that have already been published or are already in development.
These surveys seek your views on apprenticeships at three stages of development:
Proposal stage
- Whether you support the development of the proposed apprenticeships;
- Whether you think the proposed apprenticeships would typically take at least 12 months of training to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for that occupation (required as part of our criteria);
Standard stage
- Whether these occupations are similar to or duplicate existing standards.
End-point assessment (EPA) stage
- Whether the end-point assessment will confirm that the apprentice has achieved occupational competence
Please be assured this survey is anonymous and any information collated would be used in strict confidence.
